The Grant Music Boosters and Gene's Market are partnering on a fundraiser that could provide a big boost to the Music Booster program. This is a fully licensed raffle with the State of Michigan. We have a total of 1000 tickets to sell. Gene's Market is working hard to sell tickets at the cash registers and Booster members are selling as well. Please contact Nicole Mollett or Charlie McKinley to find out where to buy tickets. Nicole 231-245-4063 Charlie 231-834-8917 Below is an article about the raffle: Shopping Spree Raffle to benefit Grant Fine Arts Ok, you're at the starting line ready for the signal. It's a moment that has involved preparation along the way, developing a plan mapping a route, and making sure the legs are in shape. Suddenly the word 'Go!' is heard and you're off, forging ahead with the shopping cart in front of you and turning down the pre-chosen first aisle toward ....... What? Cart? Aisle? That's right. We're not talking about the upcoming St Nick Kick, we're referencing a different type of event. A 60 second shopping spree at Gene's Family Market in Grant. One full minute to pack your cart with whatever groceries your hungry heart desires. The 2017 Shopping Spree Raffle Drawing will be held on December 11, 2017. The lucky 1st place winner will have the opportunity to go on a 60 second shopping spree on Wednesday, December 13th; 2nd place is $200.00 cash and 3rd place is $100.00 cash. There will be 1,000 tickets printed and sold for $10.00 each. Tickets can be purchased at either of the Gene's Family Markets, Grant or Croton. They can also be purchased from a member of the Grant Music Boosters or email board@grantmusicboosters.org and someone from the boosters will contact you. Elliott and LaRissa Vanderlaan who purchased the store this past year see the 'Spree' as a way of showing their appreciation for the support they have received from the community "We have been blessed with a great opportunity and platform to provide groceries and extra cash during this sometimes hectic, but wonderful time of the year," said Elliott.. "During this season of giving, we wanted to create an event in between the holiday of giving thanks for what we have, and the holiday of giving gifts of things we don't have." "The Grant Music Boosters, Charlie McKinley, Nicole Mollet, and Eleaze Farrell are responsible for providing us with this great opportunity,"added LaRissa "We look forward to hosting the Shopping Spree for one lucky winner!" The money raised will help enhance Fine Arts in the community through support of the theatre, choir and the marching band programs at Grant High School. Good morning Band Families,
In case you haven't seen the itinerary yet, I've included it in this email. The competition is a bit earlier in the afternoon so the report time is earlier. I recommend the band students get a bite to eat before the 8:00 am report time. They don't need much because they will have an early lunch. All students are to ride the bus to Jenison. We do need one more chaperone to ride the bus. Please let me know if you'd like to be that chaperone. We also need four more sideline workers. Please contact Joel Comstock if you are interested. This week we have a few things on the agenda. I hope you can find some time to help out. Tonight, at 6:00 pm we have our monthly Grant Music Booster meeting in the high school band room. Thursday night is full band rehearsal and some of the parents will be getting together to modify the band trailers to accomodate our equipment for competitions. Rehearsal is Friday night is our last home game. We have permission to sell raffle tickets for a 50/50 drawing. I need four people (two pairs) to hawk tickets at the game. This is a licensed raffle and we have the potential to make several hundred dollars. Please email me if you are available to help. Also Friday night, be on the look out for Joel Comstock, he may need some help on the sidelines during the halftime show. If he doesn't have enough people lined up when there is five minutes left in the half he will be scouting the stands for help. On Saturday, we have the Jenison Invitational. Joel needs four more people to help on the sidelines. I sent out an email about Saturday already and forgot to add the additional help that we need on the sidelines. Please reach out to Joel and let him know if you are available to help. We also need a bus chaperone for this trip. As always, if you have any questions, please reach out to Mr. Broome or myself. Thank you, Charlie McKinley President, Grant Music Boosters 231-834-8917 www.grantmusicboosters.org Hello Band Families,
It is once again time to start planning for the Grant Band Invitational. This is the biggest fundraising event of the year and takes a lot of planning and people to make it work. This year we need about 66 people to help out. Without the help of the volunteers we could never pull this off. Please consider helping us out in some aspect or another. You can see the list of workers needed at signup.grantbands.org. If you have any questions, please email or call me. I'll be happy to answer your questions. Thank you so much for the support that you all provide. Charlie McKinley President, Grant Music Boosters charlie@grantmusicboosters.org Eleaze Farrell donates her garage and time to host the Band Yard Sale each year. This year the yard sale will be held September 7, 8, & 9 in conjunction with the Citywide Yard Sales. The items sold are donated items from members of the community and student families. If you have items that you'd like to donate you are welcome to drop them off at her house or you can contact the Grant Music Boosters to arrange for the items to be picked up. Any items not sold will be donated to Love, INC. The proceeds from this sale will be applied to the cost of dry cleaning the marching uniforms and anything left over will be placed in the financial aid fund.

This is an easy event to manage and we usually make some pretty good money doing it. Please email me about how this event can benefit our program. If you are willing to commit to working this, please go to signup.grantbands.org and fill in your time slot. Thank you, Charlie charlie@grantmusicboosters.org Hello everyone,
